Excess Baggage Company are fully bonded members of the following major International Associations:

• British Association of Removers - Overseas Division (BAR Overseas).
• Fédération Internationale des Déménageurs Internationaux - International Furniture Removers Federation (FIDI).
• Household Goods Forwarders Association of America Inc (HHGFAA).
• International Air Transport Association (IATA).
• International Professional Security Association (IPSA).

Our membership of BAR Overseas and FIDI provides a number of extremely valuable functions, both for us as a company and for you as our client.

Primarily, and most importantly, it provides absolute financial protection for you in a climate where insolvency is no longer a rare occurrence. Put quite simply, should Excess Baggage Company go into liquidation with your effects in our warehouse or in transit, BAR Overseas/IMMI will intervene and ensure that your removal is completed without any additional cost to you. Obviously, they require very stringent criteria to be met by their members to avoid such an occurrence.

As international movers to some quite remote areas of the world, we know it is vitally important that we use the best possible Agent to also provide a comprehensive service at destination. Membership of FIDI and HHGFAA allows us access to a global network of accredited Removal and Freight Forwarding Companies and is particularly valuable in the search for an Agent of quality in, for example, South America, Asia or Africa.
